BUGS display a process of fossilization, both physical and digital. Four NFC cards, in progressing states of dissolution, are pinned like insect samples. The embedded chip, when brought near a phone, opens a shifting online text, where each word is a URL. As the cards progress in their states of dissolution, the text begins to move faster: the poem rewrites itself, leaving only traces of connection. By co-opting digital assets as material, the work reflects the internet as a form of archive, with website domains acting as unstable artefacts. Code becomes an invisible medium, appropriating these unstable web domains as found objects within a larger interface.
